Mannum & Swan Reach

The view from our caravan site.

The River Murray in all its flooded glory, near Swan Reach. Absolutely, eerily, stunningly beautiful.

A couple of paddle steamers made their way past our camp site; one honking its chorusing horn proudly.

The view of the paddle steamer from the van. Yes, I am in my pjs, no shame in that, I'm on holidays!

To get to the Swan Reach township you must cross via ferry. We boarded the ferry by foot so we could walk around town. This is the view of the Patrol & van from the ferry, during transit.

Check out those sideburns!!!

A stern reminder to anyone considering doing something silly when there are flood warnings present. I can hear mum now, "You don't want it to be like 1956 now do you dear???"

One of the houses in Swan Reach has some interesting agricultural equipment in its front yard.

Here at the local store (one of two), you can even buy "Free Range Googies".

The only reference we could find of a swan in Swan Reach. In fact, their town emblem is a pelican.

Sunflowers growing wild near the river.

Maybe after some floods, builders got smart and used stilts for these fibro houses.
