Fishing at Normans Beach

We stop at Normans Beach for a few days (east of Albany, on the southern coast of WA).  I have been working every day for the business and can now enjoy a short reprieve. The caravan is parked right at the water's edge; an estuary with brackish water and a thick forest of short trees; home to many a duck.

A track along the side of the nearby hill takes you to the ocean where turquoise waves crash onto flat brown rocks.

Jase spots a small gutter at the beach and figures it might worth trying a little fishing.

We use the "Come to daddy; Stay with Daddy" rig - a posternaster rig using a two hooks and a heavy weight: one hook with pilchards ("come to daddy"), and one with squid ("stay with daddy").  Within minutes we have whiting, tommy roughs and aussie salmon.  Better put the chops back in the freezer!!!
