It is heaven.
During 'the dry', the river becomes a series of pools. Algae and minerals have turned the water green but it is quite safe to swim in. There are large trees bordering its banks, and also on the camp ground itself. The camp ground is really just a large area of rocks and stones, suitable only for 4WD. Just find a suitable spot and set camp.
Our neighbours consist of a family who are travelling in their small Jayco camper for a year, and a couple of Canadian tourists, who are working with a carnival and have a couple of days off. At the top of the ground are two older caravans which are out of sight from our location.
We all keep to ourselves, make very little noise, and spend our time here swimming and sitting by our campfires. It is peaceful and relaxing. It is bliss!
This old car bonnet serves as a handy street sign. You may be able to vaguely see "Caroline Pool" written at the top.
We set up camp right on the banks of the water hole.
A quick dip to cool off in the warm afternoon.
Curious water monitor.
The view of our campsite from the water.
Sangria time!!!
Eve enjoys 'granny craft'. This is a crochet blanket intended for Maria, Gav's wife, who is expecting a baby.
Jase delights us with a Vietnamese pork curry, complete with a couple of hard boiled eggs.
