Roma Gorge (still at Glen Helen)

We're still at Glen Helen Resort - one more week to go! Jase is working very hard and we love being a part of the Glen Helen family.

A few mornings ago we got a knock at the door from Slim, who asked if we would liketo join him and his visitor Tim at Roma Gorge. As Jase didn't start work till 3pm, we happily accepted.

Roma Gorge lies at the end of a long & bumpy 4WD track through the dry riverbed, for around 10km. There are cattle through here, which galoomph along your car, as though they are being herded. We also spot many pairs of Lincoln Ringneck parrots, which resemble large budgies when in flight with their green and blue plumage.

The gorge is home to an abundance of aborignal art called petroglyphs, which are symbols or patterns carved right into the boulders and stones in a pin-like pattern.

AND A VERY BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DEAR MUM TRUDY, WHO HAS REACHED 'SENIOR CITIZEN' STATUS AND TUTNED 65!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MA!!!!
