Inneston and Ethel

Inneston Historical Town

Inneston, on southern Yorke Peninsula, was a small gypsum mining and processing town with a population of about 150 people. The ratio of males to females was 3 to 1.

Some of the sights of Inneston.....

Wild parsely has been growing here for quite some time.... we picked and ate some with our scrambled eggs the next day for lunch.

Dear Ethel

The Ethel shipwreck has been a landmark of the southern Yorke Peninsula since it was wrecked in 1904. On the night the ship was wrecked, a nineteen-year-old crew man attempted to swim to shore with a life line, but drowned. The next morning, the stricken vessel was found to be above low water and on the beach.

How Ethel looks today.....

Amazing shots of Inneston Historical Town. They would make perfect postcards, prints, and are enough to inspire a painter (hint, hint) :o)
