Once in a Blue Moon

A big party for a great cause.

A 'blue moon' is a rare event, ocurring only every few years.  It occurs when there are two full moons in a single month.

Friends of the Himalayan Children exists to help the lives of impoverished Nepalese children and women by offering safe homes, education, and access to services. (http://www.f-hc.org/)

The Thelma & Lousie Expeditions is an adventure playground for women wanting to make a difference. (http://www.thelmanlouise.com.au/).

What do all these things have in common?

Our dear friend Deena is about to embark on an adventure through the T&L group by riding an old Postie bike with a group of likeminded women, to raise money for the FHC.  Part of the fundraising was to throw a fantastic beach party, and what better night to utilise than the night of a blue moon?

It was an awesome night....  tribal belly dancers entertained us, as did Damien & friends with their flame twirling, plus a gigantic bonfire on the beach, a feed of fish-burgers, a huge dancefloor, lots of new friends and some really lovely people, and let's not forget a spunky bartender (Jase) and a crotchety door bitch (Eve)....  what a night!

PS A huge amount of funds were raised for Deena's cause.  Well done guys!!!
